So what’s the linking command center for?

I realized while answering a few questions for a newer webmaster yesterday that some of you probably don’t see the absolute power in the linking command center.  Let’s go over that stuff now…..

Big Thing #1:  The linking command center allows you to manage all your sites, and keep a record of everything from their major keywords to their hosting accounts.  It also let’s you ‘check’ off things you’ve done to promote it.

Big Thing #2:  Add a little snippet of code to ALL your websites  (it’s php but you can easily have .html read as .php just ask your host) when your individual pages get a visitor they are added to your database where you installed the command center.

Big Thing #3:  Now that only the pages that are being visited by people and spiders are in your database you can put links on the pages that matter for any of your sites.  Pretty dang easy to do through the control panel.

Let’s say you have 10 sites out there - each one has 10 pages.  That means you have 100 “available” linking spots….   if you were to do what most webmasters do you would end up with the same links on every single page on site 1 for example (site wide linking).  That’s not as beneficial in “Google’s” eyes really.  20 pages with no links, 20 pages with 1 link, 20 pages with 2 links, etc… is going to carry a whole lot more weight.

It’s an easy install - and even if you don’t use it to keep track and manage your sites it’s a big help in managing your linking.
